The Willamette
Valley Road Runners is the main running club of Salem, Oregon. It was
formed by the merger of the Pheidippides Running & Walking Club, based out of the Pheidippides technical running
store, and a long-time member of the Road Runners Club of America, the Willamette Valley Striders. These two groups
merged in 2002 to form the Willamette Valley Road Runners, a club dedicated to fitness and racing. They also organize
five races a year, including the Cascade Half Marathon in January, and the Bush Park Cross Country Series in August.
