Foot Traffic is a technical running shoe store in the style of Phidippedes. The three others in the
Portland area are Portland Running Company, Fit Right NW, and PaceSetter Athletic. Foot Traffic is the only one
of the three that did not directly evolve from PaceSetter, the first technical running store in the Northwest.
The similarities among these four stores necessitate creativity in their marketing strategies, and Foot Traffic
has done their part by moving into the event director field.
Foot Traffic barely makes the cut as a multi-race event directing company, as
they only have two races and a training program. Their flagship race is the Flat Half Marathon and Flat Marathon,
which is held on Independence Day. Their other race is the Red Lizard 5 Miler, which they developed after adopting
Team Red Lizard as their official running club. Their training program makes use of a couple races in the area
before culminating in their own Flat Half Marathon.
