AA Sports has a few large races in downtown Portland, and specializes in triathlons and multisport
races. They have two sister organizations, Racecenter NW and Tri Northwest. Racecenter was created when online
information on races was just becoming accessible at all levels, and made progress as a free local race calendar
covering Oregon, Washington, Idaho and Montana. After Active.com and other networks took hold of the internet,
Racecenter partnered with the national Running Network. Even if advertising revenue isn't completely funding Racecenter,
AA Sports still uses it for promotion for all their races. And, the expense of keeping Racenter going is offset
by the recent success AA Sports has experienced in the multisport market. Triathlons, duathlons and aquathlons
have prospered in all distances, and AA Sports have dropped their struggling events to double their efforts in
what works. Their flagship event is their Pacific Crest "endurance weekend" at Sunriver, which includes
a Half Iron Triathlon, Endurance Duathlon, Olympic Triathlon & Duathlon, Half Marathon & Marathon, a 5k,
a 10k, a Kid's Dash, and a Kid's Splash, Pedal-n-Dash.
